Readers: Share your thoughts and experiences As a "couponer", I have had my fair share of experiences where a cashier refused to accept perfectly good coupons, hassling over the deals gotten with these coupons, and just downright nastiness...  I believe it is just par for the course in the world of coupons and couponers, and I have learned to accept this, and have taken proper measures to ensure that I can politely argue my case, when the situation arises.  

Readers: Who are some of your favorite  local(ish) money-saving gurus? Everyone seems to know my cheap hero, Clark Howard , and his wonderfully fiscal ways.  He's our local financial legend, teaching the Atlanta area how to make smarter moves to keep more money in our pockets, keep our credit scores in tact, and be more financially sound.  For years, he's been making frequent appearances on Channel 2's news , as well as WSB radio ; oh, and he's got a nationally syndicated radio talkshow , which is also available via podcast. Hyland's Homeopathic Teething Tablets are being voluntarily recalled, due to .....well, reasons are still unclear and vague at the moment.  While there isn't sufficient data to back up reports that it "pos[es] risk to children" 1 , according to a statement released by the FDA.

I just wanted to point out that I have some links to some great sites and blogs, located to the right of my blog.  :o)  Some of my favorites include: RetailMeNot - a great database, if you will, for printable coupons and online coupon codes Woot.com - a cool site with a daily "Woot!"  (which roughly translates to "a really cool deal") Coupons.com - I think the name says it all -- this is the grandaddy site for printable coupons. Half Off Depot and Scout Mob - Both sites are similar to Groupon , with more localized deals. Target.com - What can I say?  I just love Target -- they always have some sweet Daily Deals, store coupons , and clearance items.  

Graco is recalling its Graco Quattro and MetroLite strollers . The Quattro stollers being recalled were manufactured before November 2006 and MetroLite strollers manufactured before July 2007; all were sold and distributed to stores between November 2000 and December 2007.

My Latest Loot from Target: all this for $10.83 out of pocket! In case I haven't said it lately, I really love Target !  Not only do they have the one of the  best   coupon policies  around, but the store coupons you can use to stack with manufacture coupons just makes me want to do a jig!   (But I promise, no one wants to see that sad mess....)

Want to bulk up a simple classic with some veggies?  Try my Sneaky Sloppy Joes. Sauté some onions, garlic (two staples I put in just about any skillet dish), finely diced squash, finely chopped spinach.  You can also add finely diced carrots, bell peppers of assorted colors, brocolli, and whatever else you can sneak in to the pan!  I do all this before browning the ground turkey.  Then, prepare as you normally would, whether your sloppy joe sauce is canned, enveloped, or made-from-scratch (c'mon!). I've been packing mine with extra veggies for over a year, and no one is none the wiser.  Yet. (Please don't show this to my family...  please?) You may have noticed a little more bling on the blog lately.  (Sorry, poor choice of terminology, I know!)

I have discovered that many people do not take unit price in to account when attempting to shop savvily.  (Did I just make up a new word?!!)  So for my fellow frugal shoppers, or my frugal-shoppers-in-training, let me explain the value in knowing the unit price of an item you wish to purchase, or are pondering purchasing. What the heck is a unit price??

Psst!  Wanna get high? Did you know that you can get "high" with coupons?  It's known in the Money-Saving-Mommy-Blogging community as a "coupon high".  Apparently, however, coupons have acquired a bad rap, mainly as a device for old ladies, or willy-nilly SAHMs to use.  Do you think THEY get high?  You bet!

As I mentioned in a Tweet yesterday and on FB, I had a rather unpleasant experience at Office Depot yesterday.  I came in with coupons in hand, (as well as with a toddler who quickly became tired, hungry, and restless) and after hunting down the sale items (they really want customers to traipse all across the store to find the items on sale!), I went to check out.....

.....and speaking of Office Depot, did you know that you can recycle your old ink cartridges and get a $2 credit on your Star Teacher or Work Life program?  There is, of course, some fine print, such as only 20 credits  per month. OR Help your (child's) school earn supplies by recycling your ink cartridges through your school.

Office Depot's weekly ad My toy store has some great deals this week!  Um, and by that I mean, check out the awesome sales at Office Depot, and possibly turn this in to a money-maker!!  I know this looks rather busy, but if you're in need of some nifty office supplies (especially sticky labels and Scotch tape), or just want to stock up, this is worthwhile.  :o)
