Today's Shopping Haul - Office Max and Target

Today, I ventured out to Office Max, for their Teacher Appreciation event, and to take advantage of their FREE tote bag offer from 3M (WYB any two Post-Its and/or Scotch tape).  My teacher goodie bag contained some sweet Post-It samples (with coupons included!!), a 12-month planner, two red sharpie pens, and a box of paper clips (one of my quirky coupon essentials).  It also contained a coupon, good for 20% off anything in the store (good today only).

I ended up getting two packages of Post-It Note Tabs (regularly $4.29), used (2) $2.00 manufacture coupons, and combined with the 20% off.  Out of pocket, I spent $3.34, and got that second free tote bag from 3M.

(I realized after getting there that select Post-it and Scotch items were B2G1 free, but I didn't need any of those items.)

After Office Max, I ventured over to my toy store, Target.  After some G-rated cursing over forgetting my Tide coupons, I took advantage of the Hanes giftcard offer, and put the $5 towards a pair of maternity shorts.  They were priced at $25, plus I had a store coupon for $3.00 off.  Add my nickel off for using a reusable bag (that I'd just gotten for free at Office Max - hee hee!), and I paid about $18 for the shorts after taxes.  (It PAINED me to buy the shorts, for a variety of reasons, but mainly because, as I've mentioned before, I loathe spending more than $10 on clothes.

Not a bad haul, but not a super-saver trip either.  But I *do recommend taking advantage of the deals at Office Max this week!

Keep on saving!  :o)

  1. Make a trip to Athens to ReBlossom (the used store over Full Bloom) on Milledge. They have used maternity clothes (as well as baby clothes and gear). You will probably have a great selection, because you are small.

  2. Dawn, I'd LOvE to make a trip to Athens soon, I just don't see it in my near future. I have a fair amount of maternity clothes from last time, but I may need more -- we shall see!

If I find myself in Athens sometime within the next month, I'm certainly going to check out ReBlossom! Thanks for the tip! :-)

  3. You are so awesome. Maybe sometime we can meet in Chattanooga (I travel there for work a few times a month), have lunch and talk coupons! :D

Ditching the Sponge

Ditching the Sponge This summer I accomplished something I once thought unthinkable: I gave up the sponge.  It was a gripping addiction, harder to kick than a nasty nicotine habit.   ...a habit that had the ability to spar k the silliest of arguments amongst even the best of   roomies.  Right, SwimBikeMom ?  :P  But once again, I digress; that's a blog for another day. Perhaps a tad  OCD, I was one of *those* people who had a sponge designated for various parts of the kitchen: one for the floor, one for the counters, and another one for dishes.  I knew for quite some time that sponges were a breeding ground for all things disgusting; however, I was not keen on the idea of using paper towels, or other disposable products -- I had  to find a GREEN alternative to sponges.
