Teacher Appreciation Days

The Big Three office supply stores are hosting their Teacher Appreciation Days, some as soon as TOMORROW!  In order to participate in the savings and the extravaganza, they ask that you have their teacher rewards/perks/etc cards available.  If you don't have one, just bring a valid teacher ID (and perhaps a current pay stub, just for extra backup), and you can apply in store.

  • Office Depot: The whole week (July 31 - August 6) is Teacher Appreciation week); the breakfast is Saturday, August 6, which will include a FREE tote bag filled with sample goodies and coupons.  Also enjoy 20% off your purchse, with your Star Teacher card.  (limitations apply)  Click here for more details, and to check for your location.
  • Office Max: Sunday, July 31st and Monday, August 1st they are hosting their Teacher Appreciation Days.  The first 150 participants each day receive a FREE tote bag full of goodies, and 20% off your purchase, when you use your Teacher Perks card.  Click here for more details, and to check for your location.
  • Staples: Saturday, July 30, from 9 a.m. to noon - the first 100 participants get a tote bag full goodies.  I don't see anything about a discount, but I'm sure there's one applicable for the day.  (Gotta compete, right?)  Click here for more details, and to check for your location.
**All dates listed are for the metro-Atlanta area.  To find out the dates beyond this area, please check the stores' websites for more details.**

Ditching the Sponge

Ditching the Sponge This summer I accomplished something I once thought unthinkable: I gave up the sponge.  It was a gripping addiction, harder to kick than a nasty nicotine habit.   ...a habit that had the ability to spar k the silliest of arguments amongst even the best of   roomies.  Right, SwimBikeMom ?  :P  But once again, I digress; that's a blog for another day. Perhaps a tad  OCD, I was one of *those* people who had a sponge designated for various parts of the kitchen: one for the floor, one for the counters, and another one for dishes.  I knew for quite some time that sponges were a breeding ground for all things disgusting; however, I was not keen on the idea of using paper towels, or other disposable products -- I had  to find a GREEN alternative to sponges.
