Comfort Zone Heating and Air

Today seems like the perfect day to remind you about the awesome service I got from Comfort Zone!

When my husband and I decided we couldn't endure another hot Atlanta summer, we called quite a few companies to get quotes to improve our heating and air system. I'll spare you the details, but basically, we were looking to cool our two-story home, plus the basement, which we were in the early stages of finishing. The previous owners had put in a system that was a code-nightmare. In fact, just about every company we had out wanted to take pictures of the unit, so their co-workers could see it for themselves! (Yeah, it was that bad.)

We had some very reputable, well-known companies come out, and all four provided quite different solutions. But only Comfort Zone suggested REPLACING the current unit, and doing so at a comparable price as the other guys. We ended up getting a new unit installed in the basement, for the first floor and the basement; and another new unit installed in the attic, to cool and heat the top floor.

Headed by Wayne, who came out initially to give us a quote, the crew sent out was quite professional, and worked very hard to install the units in two days time. Although we were without air for one night, it wasn't unbearable -especially knowing it was temporary. When the work was complete, the crew cleaned up their mess, which was largely unavoidable when installing a unit in an attic blown with insulation. As a mother with a small toddler, this was huge. Further, they even came back to reposition a vent in the basement, the very same day we called them.

As a bonus to their low price for the job, they also offered a 12-month no-interest payment plan. As of today, we have fully paid it off. Oh, and we have a COOL house to boot – the proof is in the air!

I highly recommend Comfort Zone, for your heating and cooling needs. They serve the Atlanta area, largely ITP, all the way up through Jasper, Cartersville, and Cumming. Check them out on their website, or give them a call (678-881-9263). Please tell them Atlanta's Frugal Mom sent you. :o)

Ditching the Sponge

Ditching the Sponge This summer I accomplished something I once thought unthinkable: I gave up the sponge.  It was a gripping addiction, harder to kick than a nasty nicotine habit.   ...a habit that had the ability to spar k the silliest of arguments amongst even the best of   roomies.  Right, SwimBikeMom ?  :P  But once again, I digress; that's a blog for another day. Perhaps a tad  OCD, I was one of *those* people who had a sponge designated for various parts of the kitchen: one for the floor, one for the counters, and another one for dishes.  I knew for quite some time that sponges were a breeding ground for all things disgusting; however, I was not keen on the idea of using paper towels, or other disposable products -- I had  to find a GREEN alternative to sponges.
