$5 off WYB Pampers @ Kroger

When I went to Kroger the other day, two interesting things came out of the catalina. One was for a FREE Yoplait Greek Yogurt.

And since the lady in front of me at the self checkout didn't take hers, I scored TWO of them! Woo hoo! Let's just say, it took a ton of restraint to not do the Elaine dance, right then and there. Also not to start sifting through the trash cans around the self-checkout, to hunt for more of those coupons... But, yet again, I digress.

The other thing that came out of the catalina was an ad for Kroger's latest deal with Pampers diapers. WYB $10 worth of Pampers diapers and/or wipes, you get a coupon for $2 off your next trip. Also, WYB $20 worth of Pampers, you'll get a coupon for $5 off your next trip. This offer runs through 5/14/2011.

In my ever-present quest to find cheap diapers, I thought this was just an okay deal at best. Pampers don't seem to be on sale this week (nor have they since this started at the begining of May), but if you're a Pampers AND a Kroger shopper, and in need of diapers, this may work for you:

* the box of Pampers is part of their $5 off WYB 10 items sale. So, if you buy any other nine items, you can get the diapers for $18.99. Combine it with your highest manufacture coupon, and throw in the smallest size wipes you can find, with a man. coupon (duh!), and you could get a decent deal.

*IF Pampers were on sale this week for $8.99 for a Jumbo pack, I'd say, get two packs, plus a small wipes, add in your highest coupons (anyone got those $3 Qs laying around?), and then this would be a DYN-O-MITE deal!

Ditching the Sponge This summer I accomplished something I once thought unthinkable: I gave up the sponge. It was a gripping addiction, harder to kick than a nasty nicotine habit. ...a habit that had the ability to spar k the silliest of arguments amongst even the best of roomies. Right, SwimBikeMom ? :P But once again, I digress; that's a blog for another day. Perhaps a tad OCD, I was one of *those* people who had a sponge designated for various parts of the kitchen: one for the floor, one for the counters, and another one for dishes. I knew for quite some time that sponges were a breeding ground for all things disgusting; however, I was not keen on the idea of using paper towels, or other disposable products -- I had to find a GREEN alternative to sponges.
