Babies R Us: Trade-In Event

Who?

What?
"The Great Trade In": Trade in any old equipment (car seats, strollers, travel system, high chair, play yard, bassinet, crib, toddler bed) and recieve a  discount of 25% towards your same-day purchase of any above listed items*.

When?
Friday, August 27 through Sunday, Septemeber 19

Where?
Your local Babies R Us

Why? (As in, why bother?)
Officially, this is part of BRU's safety campaign, since September is National Safety Month....  But what's in it for you, as opposed to reselling one of these items on your own?  Perhaps you have an item show up on a recall list: it is illegal to resell recalled items.  (For more info, check this out.)  Or maybe a friend or loved one (always with the best of intentions, of course) gave you their gently used (but ridiculously old) Pack N Play, car seat, high chair, etc.  Let's face it, it may prove tough to resell an item that very well could have been made when YOU were an infant!  But you can always trade it in for something safer and newer.

Now, here's my caution/advice
You MUST use your 25% off discount during the same day that you bring your trade in.  Therefore, I advise that you do your research ahead of time, and be certain that 1) you do, in fact, wish to part with the item, and 2) you have a NEED for something from Babies R Us!  (There's nothing worse than trying to find something to buy, just to use a discount!)

While you cannot combine this 25% off with any other offers, you CAN use gift cards to use towards the purchase of such an item along with your 25% off.  So, if you have a gift card, go for it.  If you don't have a gift card, perhaps this scenario can work for you: BRU has a handful of deals going on now, that will get you a gift card.  Please, please, please only do this if you NEED any of the items listed.  I do not advise doing this if you don't need these things!

- $10 g.c. with any $50 purchase of gates and monitors
- nursery furniture has three "levels" - $50 g.c. w/$399 - $698  nursery furniture purchase; $100 g.c. w/$699 - $998 purchase; $150 g.c. w/$999 or more purchase

Ditching the Sponge

Ditching the Sponge This summer I accomplished something I once thought unthinkable: I gave up the sponge.  It was a gripping addiction, harder to kick than a nasty nicotine habit.   ...a habit that had the ability to spar k the silliest of arguments amongst even the best of   roomies.  Right, SwimBikeMom ?  :P  But once again, I digress; that's a blog for another day. Perhaps a tad  OCD, I was one of *those* people who had a sponge designated for various parts of the kitchen: one for the floor, one for the counters, and another one for dishes.  I knew for quite some time that sponges were a breeding ground for all things disgusting; however, I was not keen on the idea of using paper towels, or other disposable products -- I had  to find a GREEN alternative to sponges.
